Livelihood & Income Generation (2013)
Livelihood & Income Generation (2013)
Improving lives through vocational training and micro enterprise.
Building on primary research undertaken in the PLHIV community, AUA launched its Livelihood & Income Generation project to improve the living conditions of AUA members and their impact groups (immediate and extended family members).
A small number of highly motivated villagers were able to sign up for vocational training. A community service component to this program meant that recipients repaid their training loan in fixed service to the village. Vocational training was provided in the following categories: Hairdresser and make up; sewing; marble Carving; motorbike repair; mechanics; and basket weaving.
